To establish a plan to create a three-dimensional representation from a series of two-dimensional references.
To introduce hand-building techniques and skills in development of organic forms.
To explore the variety of available surface textures with ceramic materials.
Historic Pot - Learning Objectives:
To develop hand-building techniques and skills including coil building, pinching, and slab construction.
To begin understanding the relationship between three dimensional form and two dimensional surface design.
To problem solve by reinterpreting a historic reference and a contemporary reference.
Wheel Throwing - Learning Objectives:
• To develop skills on the potter’s wheel necessary for creating vessel forms, beginning with learning basic throwing techniques and advancing through the production of multiples

To combine building techniques from slab construction, coil building, and throwing to create an original sculptural teapot.
To use a found object from nature as a source of inspiration for an abstract design of a teapot form.
To research the functionality of sculptural teapots and contemporary artists as examples to aid in the individual interpretation and design process.
